Wyoming is a place full of stunning beauty, and our natural landscape is legendary! It’s no surprise that Americans and international travelers pick the Cowboy State for their vacations, but plenty of native Wyomingites don’t get out to see the places that make our state so well known. If you live here, you’ve got to check these natural wonders of Wyoming off your bucket list.
- Grand Prismatic Hot Spring, Yellowstone National Park
Flickr / Bernd Thaller Grand Prismatic is one of the world’s most impressive wonders, and we’re lucky enough to have it right here in Wyoming. This enormous and colorful spring is one of the features that helped elevate Yellowstone to its status as the world’s first National Park.
- Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River
Flickr / Bernard Spragg, NZ The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River may not be as famous as the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River, but it’s certainly a wonder in its own right. With so many impressive spots to view the three waterfalls that make up the Canyon, including the famous Uncle Tom’s Trail, it’s easy to get up close to the powerful cascades.
- Delta Lake, Grand Teton National Park
Alltrails / Day Tomko Delta Lake is a bit of a hidden gem, but anyone with a sense of adventure and sturdy ankles can make it across the two boulder fields that lead you down to this azure alpine lake. It’s a full day trip trek, but it’s so worth it for the breathtaking views.Read more about it right here
- World’s Largest Mineral Hot Springs, Thermopolis
Flickr / Don Barrett Thermopolis is one of the best little cities in Wyoming! Hot Springs State Park is where you’ll find the world’s largest mineral hot spring, and you can even bathe in the healing water in public bathhouses or at Star Plunge.
- Devils Tower

- Killpecker Sand Dunes
Flickr / Bureau of Land Management One of the only “whistling dune” systems in the world is found right here in Wyoming’s odd Red Desert. The Green River basin is truly a wonder of the world, and not many people even know that it exists.Read more about it right here
