Attention thrill seekers: This might be the scariest thing you can do in the Beehive State. Amangiri Resort has built a ladder in the sky near the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, and it takes you 400 feet above the desert floor.
Located on 600 acres in the southern Utah desert, Amangiri Resort is surrounded by national parks. It’s a luxury resort unlike any other, and it just upped its game when it comes to one-of-a-kind amenities and activities.

The resort built a ladder that climbs high into the sky above the desert landscape. It’s called the Cave Peak Stairway, and it’s a scary - but amazing - experience.

Before you can climb this stairway, you’ll need to reach Cave Peak by taking a hike on a “via ferrata” trail that includes fixed climbing routes.

From Cave Peak, guests of the resort climb 120 thin, metal steps that are supported by a wire frame.

The Cave Peak Stairway is 200 feet long, and is the longest aerial stairway in the northern hemisphere, according to Amangiri.

At some points on the stairway, you’ll be suspended 400 feet above the desert floor far below. It’s a long way down!
