Every year in Kansas, going camping has always been a big part of summer adventures. Sometimes, camping can be a tent near a mud hole of a lake. Other times, it can be more than stunning. Come see Kanopolis lake for a beautiful change in scenery! The views will take your breath away.

Welcome to the endless beauty that is Kanopolis Lake and Kanopolis State Park. Can you imagine having access to this while camping?

This stunning scene is part of the 3,500-acre lake and 12,500-acre wildlife area where you can spot all sorts of little creatures in their natural homes.

Camp out at one of the various campsites, each with their differences in shade, tree cover, and appearance.

They also stock the lake with fish regularly if you have a fishing license, and they update stock numbers on the KWPT website. It’s a great way to hang out under the sun and just take it all in.

At the state park side of things, the Horsethief trail will lead you through some of our state’s best scenery, caves, and more to explore.

There are more than 30 miles of trails in the area, so even if fishing isn’t your thing, nature is always calling if you have time to explore it.

Out here, camping means you get to enjoy a different and beautiful Kansas sunset surrounded by some of our best scenery. Who wouldn’t love to fall asleep to the sounds of nature after seeing something so beautiful?
