Sterming was a shrewd and experienced saloon owner, and he catered mainly to the maritime trade.

But that couldn’t be further from the truth today – The Belmont is quiet and peaceful.

The hotel underwent a total renovation in 2018, and plenty of modern amenities were added.

Of course, as with most older properties, especially in Port Townsend, there are rumors that the hotel is haunted.
