For the majority of its operation, Jacob’s widow Magdelena operated the brewery as “Cleveland’s widow brewer,” a title she kept for 28 years. The building ceased being a brewery around 1907 and was actually at risk of being demolished until just before the modern brewery opened.
While such fascinating history makes the inside sitting spots palatable, nothing quite compares to their welcoming patio.
