This section is part of the Upper River District and is a favorite for picnics and swims. Floating is also possible during spring and fall. If you’d like to see more about floating, visit the National Park Service website.

After you’ve played in the river, explore the area further with a hike or two.

AllTrails/Robert Sexe This area has plenty of nearby trails but the closest is a section of the Buffalo River Trail. The Ponca to Pruitt via Buffalo River Trail is a 24.3-mile-long trek but by no means must you travel the entire section.
