Owned and operated by John Hernandez, Casa Masa is an unassuming pop-up with some of the best tamales in Texas.

The tamales come in several different varieties, from brisket to green chile chicken and everything in between.
Facebook/Casa Masa You’ll also see vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, including nopales and the ever-popular “Virtuous Veggie,” featuring zucchini, carrots, squash, kale, roasted corn, and peppers.
Among the crowd favorites is the “Abuela’s” tamal, which uses Hernandez’ grandmother’s special picadillo, or beef and pork, blend.
