Cathedral Caverns State Park, which was originally called “Bat Cave,” is located in Woodville, Alabama. Since opening as a state park in 2000, it’s welcomed numerous visitors from all over the world.

The main feature of Cathedral Caverns State Park is of course its massive cave, Cathedral Caverns. Interestingly, this cave’s entrance has a height of 25 feet and a width of 126 feet, which makes it one of the largest cave entrances in the world.

Cathedral Caverns is also home to several stalactites and stalagmites, which are unique formations that cover approximately three acres.

“Goliath” is the name of the cave’s most popular stalagmite. With a height of 45 feet and a circumference of 243 feet, this stalagmite is one of the world’s largest.
