This summer, it’s time to get back to the enjoyment of listening to live music. What’s a better way to spend a summer day than listening to the soul-soothing and inspirational sounds of jazz? Mark your calendar to listen to a variety of talented artists at the Greater Hartford Jazz Festival from July 16-18, 2021, in the Nation’s oldest public park. If you’ve never been to this music festival, you’re in for a treat!

Inspired by his years of performing during the 28 year run of the Monday Night Jazz concerts in Bushnell Park, the late local jazz bassist Paul H. Brown began the first Greater Hartford Jazz Festival in 1991.

For the last 30 years, the jazz festival has remained free to the public due to grants, as well as generous donations from both local businesses and jazz lovers from all over. The festival is the largest free jazz event in New England and the 17th largest jazz festival in the United States.

The festival is held every third weekend in July in the country’s oldest public park.
