Tucked away on Decatur Street in the heart of the French Quarter, Central Grocery is one of the oldest, if not the oldest deli in New Orleans.

The family owned and operated deli opened its doors in 1906 with Salvatore Lupo, a Sicilian immigrant that’s credited with the invention of the muffuletta.
