A sweet classic gets an update at Funky Cones! The recently opened ice cream shop specializes in bubble cones, rather than standard waffle cones. But one-of-a-kind cones aren’t the only thing that makes Funky Cones a must-visit. There’s also the fact that patrons have complete control over what goes in their cones – from the ice cream to the toppings.

The Tupelo dining scene got a bit sweeter in February of 2021, which is when Funky Cones opened its doors.

Patrons are greeted by a colorful interior with strategically placed ice cream cones. The charming atmosphere is only made sweeter by the aroma of freshly-baked waffle cones.

But these aren’t your typical waffle cones. Funky Cones serves up bubble cones, which are different from traditional cones in that they’re fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Originating in Hong Kong, bubble cones are often described as a mix between a cookie and a sponge cake.

The Funky Cones menu features several signature cones. Of course, you can always opt to create your own.

Crafting a custom cone is a 3-step process. First, you’ll pick a waffle flavor – original or chocolate.

Next, you’ll choose one of roughly a dozen ice cream flavors. Finally, you’ll select your favorite toppings, which may be difficult, as the options include everything from syrups and sprinkles to candies and cereals.

Also on the menu are Funky Sandwiches, which are made by sandwiching ice cream between two cookies. Much like the cones, customers get to customize Funky Sandwiches by selecting the type of cookie and flavor of ice cream.
