In case you haven’t noticed, spring has finally arrived in Utah! The snow is melting away, the air is fresh and clean, the flowers are beginning to bloom, and local farms are filled with adorable baby animals.

Cross E Ranch celebrates spring every year with a big festival that runs through the first week in May. You’re going to want to put the Baby Animal Festival on your calendar.

Cross E Ranch is a family-owned and operated cattle ranch that’s been around for decades. It’s located right in Salt Lake City, and every year it hosts several festivals so the public can come and see what a real, working ranch looks like.

The Baby Animal Festival is a favorite around here, and you can see why. There’s nothing more adorable than a baby lamb, calf, colt, or bunny.

The festival runs during the month of April through May 8th. Stop by to see and pet all kinds of baby animals. Let your kids play with the goat kids…

…and pet a frisky little colt! The ranch also has baby chicks, piglets, calves, lambs, and more.

The ranch offers presentations throughout the day. Watch them bottle-feed baby goats and calves, and milk cows. You can also sign up for a Ranch Hand Experience, where you’ll get to bottle-feed a calf or baby goat yourself!

This year, Cross E Ranch added fields of tulips to its spring festival. Originally, the ranch planned to charge a separate admission fee to wander through its fields, but plans changed.

Cross E Ranch/Facebook After planting more about 250,000 tulip bulbs, the folks at the ranch were excited to have lush fields of beautiful tulips. But things don’t always work as planned on farms and ranches. These tulips did bloom, but they stayed short and small. The “dwarf” tulips are still pretty, though, and you can wander through the fields at no extra charge.

As if baby animals and dwarf tulips wasn’t enough, the ranch also offers tons of fun activities. The jump pads have long been a festival favorite…

…and kids will also enjoy the 100-foot mega slides, pony rides, duck races, rat rollers, barrel train ride, rock wall, zip lines, and more!

Cross E Ranch/Facebook It’s all included in the price of admission to the Baby Animal Festival. Monday-Thursday and Friday before 4:00, admission prices are $12.95 for adults, $9.95 for kids ages three and older, and free for toddlers. On weekends, admission is $1 more.

All of this baby animal petting, tulip field exploring, and activity is certain to make you hungry. Head on over to the concessions for a tasty meal or treat.
