Best Small Towns In Pennsylvania March 22, 2021 Melissa Mahoney What are the best small towns in Pennsylvania? Small towns are often charming, wonderful places to visit and explore. Gettysburg happens to be one place that consistently tops the list of one of the country’s best small towns. Its historical significance as host to the most famous and pivotal battle during the Civil War, the Battle of Gettysburg, brings thousands of tourists to the area each year. But there’s more to explore than the Civil War sites. Downtown Gettysburg is home to the charming historical district with numerous shops, inns, and restaurants. Another small town, New Hope, is close to where George Washington crossed the Delaware River. The Delaware Canal runs through the town and is lined with trees and homes while the quaint downtown area is filled with shops and restaurants. New Hope is quite a picturesque place, so remember to take a camera as you’ll want to take pictures of everything here!  What are the most beautiful places in Pennsylvania? Most of us can agree that beauty can be found just about anywhere in Pennsylvania. From hiking to vista points with epic landscape views to serene waterways, we don’t have to travel too far to find these places. Head to Kinzua Bridge State Park for some gorgeous views and take a walk along the old train bridge that has been repurposed into a scenic skywalk complete with a glass floor. For a year-round destination, head to the Poconos where you can ski in the winter or hike along numerous trails to a summit with stunning views any time of year. What are the most charming places to visit in Pennsylvania? With all the history and small towns throughout the state, charming places are not hard to find. Drive through the countryside to see the charming barns surrounded by acres of farmland.  Head to any small town and check into a lovely historic inn or a cozy bed and breakfast that will ensure a relaxing time away.
