There are a ton of beautiful waterfalls hiding in Kentucky’s lush forests. They range from all sizes, from the massive Cumberland Falls down to the smaller and serene Creation Falls in Red River Gorge. However, there is one hike in Kentucky that is absolutely unrivaled when it comes to seeing gorgeous waterfalls, and that hike is the Eagle Falls Trail. The Eagle Falls Trail #9, which was named the best trail in Kentucky, is located within Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Corbin.
Flickr/Sarah Altendorf You can find the trailhead along KY-90 in the state park. This 1.5-mile loop is the only trail that leads to Eagle Falls, and can be quite rugged, so be sure to wear proper footwear and use caution. Some parts of the trail are steep and can get slick after a rain.
A large portion of the trail follows a cliff line, and will offer you this stunning view of the Niagra of the South, Cumberland Falls.

You have to scramble over a few large rocks to get to Eagle Falls, but nothing too daunting. The views of this gorgeous waterfall are worth it. Unlike Cumberland Falls, Eagle Falls will not have huge crowds all trying to see the waterfall at once, so it is significantly more peaceful.
