In the mood for a bit of nature? Hiking in North Carolina is always a great time; however, sometimes trails are a little crowded. This little trail is an easy hike while still being unpopular enough to give you a quiet day out in nature’s beauty. Check out Eno River Loop Trail in North Carolina for a beautiful day outdoors.

Today’s adventure leads you to the Eno River Confluence Natural Area, a long name for a short trail that’s pretty easy to navigate and pretty easy on the eyes.

This area around a fork in the Eno River is a great 1.9-mile loop trail to explore at your own pace. Walk, jog, or bring a leashed dog to enjoy the great outdoors on a little known trail.

This trail is closed during the week, and open during the weekend from dusk until dawn. It’s beautiful in all seasons, and when the river is a little noisy, it’s quite peaceful.

Other features along this kid-friendly trail include interestingly-shaped rocks and stumps, wildflowers when they are in season, and plenty of places to play. Everything is exciting when you’re on an adventure, after all.

Make sure to be cautious around the water as well as wildlife. Take some beautiful photos, and if the kids are hiking with you, see how many different flowers or mushrooms you can spot. Make an easy game out of it.

No matter what, never leave trash or food scraps behind, so we can keep our natural areas clean.

Follow the trail path, and read recent reviews from hikers on the Eno River Confluence Natural Area trail page on AllTrails. Next time you’re up for a challenge, follow The Road to Nowhere, which leads to an abandoned tunnel.
