El Matador Was The First Mexican Restaurant In Utah

Residents in the city of Ogden didn’t enjoy Mexican food at a restaurant until 1963, when El Matador opened its doors. Now it’s a local favorite!

When El Matador opened in Ogden in 1963, it was the first Mexican restaurant in the city, and it quickly became a popular spot.

From the outside, the restaurant looks like an old Spanish mission, and when you walk into the dining room, you’ll find even more authentic atmosphere.
