New Castle County, Delaware is absolutely packed with parks! In Wilmington alone, you’ll find the rugged Alapocas Run State Park, the breezy and hilly Brandywine Creek State Park, the tucked-away Fox Point State Park, and one of our favorites, the beautiful Bellevue State Park. If you’ve never explored Bellevue, come take a walk around one of the most peaceful places in the First State.

Bellevue State Park was founded in 1976 and it has provided beautiful and plentiful recreation opportunities to Delawareans ever since.

If you’ve spent any time in Delaware, it should come as no surprise that Bellevue State Park is home to a former DuPont mansion.

Other historic structures in the park include the family’s signature stone walls, similar to those you can find at Brandywine Creek State Park.

Be sure to walk by the historic green barn while you’re in the park! The resident horses are always fun to observe.

The park itself is fairly small, but you can make the most of your time here by planning a picnic in the gazebo or on the shores of the pond.
