With a population of around 1,000 people, White Sulphur Spring is certainly not a booming town. However, this little Meagher County city has some fantastic places to eat, including the surprisingly sophisticated Bar 47. But when what you’re craving is a good old-fashioned, home-cooked meal, it doesn’t get better than Snook’s Diner. This family-owned eatery will serve you freshly made pie that just might be better than your grandmother’s (sorry, grandma).

You’ll find Snook’s Diner in an old A-frame building on Main Street in White Sulphur Springs, where it has been making locals happy and full for the last several years.

Leslie W / TripAdvisor The building has been home to quite a few restaurants and cafes over the years, but this one seems to have staying power.

The interior is humble, warm, and welcoming – it almost feels like entering a friend’s home.

HRambler / TripAdvisor The fact that the diner is family-owned might have something to do with that. The diner is owned by the Lester family, and there are four generations involved in making it the great place that it is.

The menu consists mainly of classic American fare, from big, hearty breakfasts to tasty burgers.

brneyedgrl Gibson / Google Everything is made to order, and it’s all delicious. Stop by in the morning for some freshly baked coffee rolls or in the afternoon for coffee and dessert.

The food here may be no-frills, but it’s absolutely fantastic.

Leslie W / TripAdvisor Try a burger, fries, and a shake, or ask for the daily special.

Of course, while the breakfast and lunch menu is delightful, the real star of the show here is the homemade pie.

Leigha Minnick / Google The pie is made on-site using family recipes, and it’s out of this world.

Snook’s Diner is named as a tribute to the current manager’s grandmother, the owner of the pie recipes.

Snooks Diner / Facebook She used to listen to a radio show with a character by the name of Baby Snooks, so the family felt Snook’s Diner was fitting.

Hungry? Snook’s Diner is open Tuesday – Saturday from 7 .a.m – 3 p.m.
