Fields of lavender have long been associated with Provence, France, but did you know that there are also lavender fields right here in Illinois? If you are looking for something to add to your Illinois bucket list this spring, visiting a lavender farm should go at the top. There is one farm, FarmHouse Harvest Lavender, that has a bit more to offer than just fragrant purple flowers out in a field.
FarmHouse Harvest Lavender sits on a 17-acre property in Benton with a farmhouse that was built in 1899. The lavender fields were started by the owners and their children in 2017 with the sowing of 1,000 lavender plants.

When the farm is open for the season, you will want to spend the afternoon in the idyllic countryside setting with the scent of lavender wafting through the air.

The Garden Party Pavilion on the property is where the YogalaTEAS sessions are held. You may enjoy a 45-minute yoga/pilates (i.e. yogalates) class followed by lunch with tea and dessert.
Farmhouse Harvest/Facebook If you prefer not to have lunch, there is a separate price for the yogalates session only. Check the farm’s Facebook page for dates. The pavilion may also be rented out for special events like weddings, bridal and baby showers, and birthday or tea parties. It’s a lovely spot for a special occasion!
The on-site food truck, called the AnTeaque Traveler, has lunch offerings for visitors. Lunch is served on picnic tables overlooking the gardens and lavender fields. The sight and smell of the lavender alone creates such a peaceful ambiance.

There are two options for lunch. The Linen Lunch includes a choice of a sandwich lunch and tea while the Lavender Lunch includes a sandwich, tea, and homemade lavender ice cream, which is something everyone should try.
