Here in Alabama, many fun events are scheduled to take place this fall. One of these is “Festifall at the Garden,” which will be taking place at Huntsville Botanical Garden. To learn about this garden and event, including some of the activities that’ll be taking place, take a look below.

Huntsville Botanical Garden, which covers 112 acres, is located in Huntsville, Alabama and is one of the state’s top outdoor attractions.

Currently taking place is its “Festifall at the Garden.” This fall event is scheduled to last through October 31, 2021, and one of its main attractions is the Scarecrow Trail. The wacky and whimsical scarecrows were created by community members.

Throughout the season, Huntsville Botanical Garden’s flowers will be showing off lots of beautiful fall colors. The displays will be gorgeous, so don’t forget your camera!

On September 25, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., you’ll be able to tag and release monarchs as they migrate through Huntsville. Approximately 100 butterflies will be tagged with a tiny sticker and then released into the garden.

If you enjoy camping, you’ll want to participate in the garden’s campout. There will be a hot dog dinner, s’mores, a bedtime story, and a guided night hike. This campout is the perfect family activity. The two campouts are scheduled to take place on October 1 and October 15, 2021. (5 p.m. to 8 a.m.)

The pumpkins, which were locally grown, will make their debut at the garden on October 1, 2021. Displays of them will be scattered throughout the property.

The “Uncaged: Birds, Nature, & You” exhibit is a unique collection of interactive pieces that’ll help you better understand the lives of birds. It’s currently taking place and will continue through October 31, 2021.

Speaking of birds, “Festifall at the Garden” will also be hosting its Raptor Show on October 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. While attending this show, you’ll get to view raptors up close. It’s also a great activity for all ages.

If you enjoy hiking, you’ll love the garden’s Scarecrow Trail Night Hike. This hike will give you a chance to view the scarecrows after sunset and to also explore the garden’s nighttime activities. Don’t forget to bring along a flashlight. The hike is scheduled to take place on October 8, 2021 (6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m) and October 22, 2021 (6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.)
