The Chimney Rock is a short and sweet trail in Point Reyes National Seashore. The easygoing nature of the simple 1.75-mile trail had made it a popular trek along this beautiful section of the coast.

You’ll find Chimney Rock located at the eastern-most end of the Point Reyes Headlands. To reach it, you’ll take Sir Francis Drake Boulevard directly to the Chimney Rock parking lot. Detailed driving directions can be found on the National Park Service website.

The trail itself is easy-breezy and leaves directly from the parking lot. The single-track trail gently climbs up the hillside and across the peninsula, boasting dramatic views of the cliffs and ocean along the way.

The area is absolutely gorgeous, especially during the springtime when wildflowers burst to life. Keep an eye out for beautiful blossoms including Seaside Daisies, Checkerbloom, Mule’s Ears, and California Goldfields. The spring bloom typically takes place in April and May.
