Are you in Vermont and looking for an outing that includes a lot of exercise and breathtaking views? If so, head to the Ludlow Mountain via Healdville Trail in Okemo State Forest for a memorable hike that includes interesting rock formations, a fire tower, picturesque scenery, and wildflowers along the trail.
The Ludlow Mountain via Healdville Trail is just over 7 miles and rated moderate. Since it’s an in-and-out trail, you can walk a few miles or aim to reach the summit. And as long as your pup is on a leash, they can join you on your adventure too.
To get started on your hike, drive either south or west on Vermont Road 103 and turn onto Station Road. Once you reach the train tracks, make another left until you reach the parking lot.
After you’ve geared up with water and comfortable shoes, follow the signs to the sights along the trail.
