Looking for a beautiful drive to take? New Jersey has all sorts of scenic views to choose from, but one of our particular favorite routes takes you on a little bit of a roller coaster ride. We are, of course, talking about Henry Hudson Drive through the Palisades in New Jersey, which offers some truly amazing views, maybe some of the best in the state. When we say breathtaking, we mean it literally.

Henry Hudson Drive is one of the most scenic drives you can take in the entire state.

People know the Palisades are beautiful — and this is a way to experience the cliffs and views without hiking or exerting yourself.

Fair warning, though — the ride is a bit of a roller coaster and the scarily steep dropoffs might scare less confident drivers.

That being said, the Henry Hudson Drive’s views make up for any discomfort! It’s such a beautiful drive.

We particularly recommend the drive during the fall when the trees put on an unforgettable color show.

You can also take a bike along the roadway if you’d prefer to really be in nature.

The entire drive is only about 1.25 miles long, but trust us — it still packs a punch, thanks to the dramatic twists, turns, drops, and views.

Eventually, you end up just south of the George Washington Bridge, so you can head into the city for dinner after enjoying such a wonderful drive.

So head into the car and buckle up — this is a fun, gorgeous ride you can enjoy with the entire family. There is no better way to pass the time!
