Sometimes, when we all have family visiting from out of state, it suddenly becomes the perfect opportunity for them to fall in love with Nebraska and totally think about moving here. Stop them in their tracks before they can make any solid plans – we all know Nebraska is crowded enough as it is. It should be easy: show them all these reasons they should never, ever consider living in Nebraska.
- This is just boring old flyover country.

- Nobody even knows where Nebraska is.

- It’s SO flat here.
Jasperdo/Flickr
- Plus, we’ve got all those “Cowboy and Indian” fights to put up with.
Brad Armstrong/Flickr
- There’s never anything to do.
Grand Island Tourism/Flickr We basically just sit around staring at the walls all day.
- Nebraska doesn’t even have any beaches. Summer here is just awful.

- Omaha and Lincoln are all there is to Nebraska.

OR 8. It’s all cornfields - no cities at all.
Mr. Nixter/Flickr (If you’re talking to a city person.)
- It’s just plain ugly here.
Rich/Flickr
- The people are so rude and unwelcoming. You’ll never make any friends.

- The boring view you see from I-80 is all there is. Seriously, there’s nothing else. Don’t even bother exploring other places.

Nebraska is just plain-old boring, flat, and lame to anyone who might be interested in living here, so let that be a warning to those of you who would like to move out here at any point!
Okay, so, did it work? Did you convince everyone to stay far away? If not, then at least prepare them for life in Nebraska by telling them how living here ruins you for life.
In the meantime, what’s your favorite thing about living here? Tell us all about it.

Living in Nebraska March 17, 2021 Tori Jane Is it worth moving to Nebraska? If you’re not about that city life (though we do have those), Nebraska might just be the perfect place for you to lay down some roots. During the spring and summer, Nebraska does occasionally experience severe weather such as tornadoes and large hail, and winters can get pretty chilly, with below-freezing temperatures being not at all uncommon. If you can manage those things, however, we feel Nebraska is very much worth the journey to. The wide, open plains are endlessly beautiful, and the possibilities for life in Nebraska are endless. What are some quirky things about Nebraska? Luckily for us, there are lots of strange and quirky things about the Cornhusker State that we love. For example, you know about Stonehenge, right? Well, did you know that Nebraska is home to “Carhenge”, which is a recreation of the original Stonehenge… made of cars? What about the fact that we’re the proud home of the largest ball of stamps there ever was? In Hastings, we even have a Kool-Aid museum! Anyone who tells you that Nebraska is boring either hasn’t ever been here or hasn’t looked thoroughly enough for the weird and wonderful. What is the most scenic town in Nebraska? If you’re a lover of the plains like we are, you’ll find it pretty hard to consider any Nebraska town to be un-scenic. Nebraska City is one such breathtakingly beautiful place, and it was the birthplace of Arbor Day, to boot! Check out the beautiful trees growing around town and make sure to tour some of the historic buildings scattered throughout town; you won’t regret it! Check this list out for more Nebraska towns that we feel are totally scenic.
