The Williwaw Lakes Trail takes you through some of fall’s breathtaking scenery.

Dani Vlastnik / AllTrails This trail is always a stunner, but when autumn hits, it becomes a little extra special. The colors combine to give you a view that you won’t ever forget.

The trail is on the longer side, about 16 miles out and back.

Dani Vlastnik / AllTrails You can turn around whenever you need, but we recommend you at least get far enough to be surrounded by these epic colors. Pack a lunch and make it a day trip if you can.

We’ve had a late summer so far, so you can still see many of the fall colors that tend to be gone by now.

Erick Heyl / AllTrails If you can catch the trail on a sunny day, even better. Sometimes the mist can obscure some of the views.

When the alpine wildflowers come alive every fall season, it will take your breath away.

Loisi Vailea / AllTrails You do have to do some climbing on the trail to reach these views, however. You can expect to hike 2,585 feet along the entirety of the trail.

But every step is worth it.

Krystal Sewell / AllTrails The next time you have a day free, put this hike at the top of your list.

Grab a loved one and head out on the trail before more snow falls.

Loisi Vailea / AllTrails It’s beautiful all year long, but there’s something extra special when the mountains glow in the autumn colors. And with snow beginning to fall and termination dust arriving, it won’t look like this for much longer!
