The trail is located in a very accessible region of the park that’s just south of Hoover Dam and right along Highway 93. From Las Vegas, it’s about a 45-minute drive to Lake Mead NRA, into Arizona, and to the White Rock Canyon Trailhead.

The hike is rated as moderate and stretches for just over five miles. Throughout the hike, you’ll traverse about 900-feet of elevation gain. You may work up a sweat but rest assured it’s worth it! The views of the desert scenery, Colorado River, and Liberty Arch are a must-see.

Do keep in mind that due to extreme temperatures, the trail is off-limits during the heat of summer. This one is best accomplished during winter or spring and, of course, always bring plenty of water and dress for the weather. Otherwise, this is a pretty pleasant hike that takes advantage of old roads and wide-open, easy-to-follow trails.

Winding along the White Rock Wash, the trail takes you through a diverse and fascinating landscape. You’ll find yourself passing through narrows, past an old magnesium mine site, and along ridges that boast sweeping views of the river gorge below.

Of course, the highlight of this trail is the Liberty Bell Arch! Named for its resemblance to the famous Liberty Bell, this towering arch is the product of millions of years worth of geologic erosion. It’s an amazing natural wonder that doesn’t disappoint when you see it with your own eyes.
