Sick of the saltwater and waves? Don’t worry; while the most popular swimming spots in New Jersey are located at the shore, there are other options when you want to take a dip. One of our favorite swimming holes in the state is actually a pretty, secluded lake called Hooks Creek Lake. Here’s what you should know before planning your visit.

One of the highlights of the park is Hooks Creek Lake. It’s a great place to swim and never gets crowded.

Swimming is allowed at the lake from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and there are lifeguards present.

Park admission is $5 per car ($10 for those who don’t live in New Jersey) on weekdays and $10 per car (and $20 for non-New Jersey residents) on weekends and holidays.
