There’s a little piece of Germany hiding out in Rocklin, California, and you’ll want to find it. Kathrin’s Biergarten is a place to slow down, enjoy yourself, and most importantly, indulge in authentic German eats.

Kathrin’s Biergarten is the result of one immigrant’s aspirations to bring German beer and cuisine to the community of Rocklin. The owner, Kathrin Grosse, worked at several real biergartens before coming to America, so you know this place is as authentic as it gets.

The atmosphere is simply perfect for the theme. With a garden surrounded by large oak trees, paths of pebble stones, and a cozy dining room, this restaurant contains all of the details of a traditional German biergarten.

However, the authenticity doesn’t end there. The restaurant also boasts a menu of authentic German cuisine, with many of the ingredients sourced from local German immigrants or even Germany itself.

The jägerschnitzel is by far the most popular item on the menu. This dish is comprised of a specially breaded meat cutlet smothered in traditional mushroom sauce. It’s served with spätzle (a German noodle dish) or fries.

Of course, you’ll also find a large selection of authentic German beer. All of their beers are even served in the appropriate German-style glasses. The most popular beer is the Wehenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel, but you won’t be able to resist trying a little bit of everything.

Kathrin’s Biergarten boasts itself as a place to try out a different culture and come together with common interests. It’s a place to forget about the hecticness of reality and escape to something simpler. Give it a try and you definitely won’t be disappointed.
