Parks aren’t just for kids – at least not Arkansas’ newest park, Railyard Park. Spanning several acres and brimming with perks, it’s got something for everyone. What’s more, the park boasts plenty of space for events, including a seasonal farmers market.

A couple of years and several million dollars in the making, Railyard Park in Rogers opened in May 2021, making it one of the state’s best new attractions.

Part of a revitalization project, the 5-acre park features a covered area for events, a stage for live music, a play area for kids, and Frisco Plaza, which plays host to weekly farmers markets.

As you might have guessed from the name, Railyard Park was designed with the city’s railroad history in mind.

It’s not just the name that pays tribute to Rogers’ past, though.

Just about every element in the park harks back to something historical or significant about the area. Take the picnic tables, for example.

They’ve been placed on rails, which is both a nod to Rogers’ past and an ingenious idea, since it allows for the tables to be pushed together to accommodate large groups.

Even the play space, Playard, is filled with industrial-inspired features, like a bright yellow Mi-Jack crane, which is a relic from back when the plaza was a depot.

The crane isn’t the only remnant from the past, though.

There are also old water towers, which now showcase the artwork of three different artists.

Much more than a lovely sight, the towers mark the splash pad area, which has been dubbed the Water Stop.

The park’s other perks include Butterfield Stage, a former store that now serves as a 1,000-person music venue.
