Let’s check it out:

Alicia M./Google This charming little eatery has been around since 2004, but like so many New Orleans restaurants, the building dates back much further.
The name La Petite Grocery is actually a nod to the history of the building.
Dr. Steven Anthony Sola/Google In the late 1800s, the charming little Creole-style cottage was home to the Central Tea, Coffee & Butter Depot until a fire broke out in 1908 that destroyed the original building. Like New Orleanians are wont to do, the owners rebuilt and came back better than ever, expanding to a full-service grocery store with a barn for house delivers via carriages. With the new building, a new name came, and “Frank W. Mackie Grocer” became a neighborhood favorite for 35 years.
Since 2004, La Petite Grocery has been a favorite for locals on the hunt for a deliciously fabulous meal.
