For an easy, family-friendly adventure take on the trail around Lake Atalanta. The trail will reward you with wildlife watching, fishing, and picnic areas as well as stunning views! This gorgeous lake has a beautiful trail and plenty to do so let’s grab a water and head around the loop:
The trail around Lake Atalanta is simply splendid but it’s only the beginning to your play day at the park!
AllTrails/Rusty Landon Lake Atalanta Park is a 236-acre park in Rogers that also encompasses the adjacent Railyard Bike Park. The main hiking trail loops around the human-engineered lake in a breezy 1.8 miles.
You can bring as much or as little supplies to your Lake Atalanta adventure.
AllTrails/Phillip Bassett All that’s “required” is a decent pair of walking shoes but feel free to bring a kayak, fishing pole, or bicycle! Rod and pole fishing may reward you with trout, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, crappie, walleye, or catfish!
Take a hike or ride around this gorgeous area!
AllTrails/Justin Morrison A whole system of off-road biking trails zigzag around the park. There are 16 miles worth of trail directly around the lake but also plenty of routes to connect with the rest of NWA’s impressive trail system. All ages and skill levels can find a bike trail around the lake! You can spy the trail map right here.
Kids (and kids at heart) will find plenty of reasons to explore Lake Atalanta.
Google/Alice Oneder Stop by the nature-themed playgrounds either before or after your hike. Kids will adore the climbing structures and slides but everyone can feel like Peter Pan atop the secret tree house here!
The inclusiveness of the trail is what makes this one you’ll want to meander multiple times.
Google/Laura Werner Besides just being a stunning lakeside trail, this loop is also entirely paved! It’s a loop that strollers and small hikers can handle. Kids can enjoy the play areas and four-legged family members can roam around Atalanta’s dog park!
We love visiting this park and taking on the trails on a sunny spring day but just about any time is a great time to explore Lake Atalanta!
