When people think of vacation destinations across our country, we recognize that the Bluegrass State may not be the first place that comes to mind. We love oceans, popular big cities, and massive amusements parks, but we also happen to think that there is something quite special about the state of Kentucky. And it turns out, many people agree with us! Recently, publications such as Travel + Leisure and Southern Living have recognized that Lexington, Kentucky is one of the best places to visit in our country. This southern city feels like a small town, yet has all of the best features of a big city and we agree that locals and visitors alike should appreciate this “city on the rise.”
We know Lexington as the Horse Capital of the World and that’s definitely what comes to mind first when you think of this city (unless you’re a UK fan!). Keeneland is a gorgeous and historic race track in Lexington that’s an ideal spot for visitors and locals both in the spring and the fall.
