In many ways, visiting the town of Wallace in North Idaho feels like entering a different time. Boasting historic buildings in every direction and plenty of nods to the town’s past, it’s almost like nothing has changed in this old mining town. One thing that has changed is the fact that there are no longer operating bordellos in the town – for obvious reasons – although they were common in Wallace during the 19th century. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of reminders of these former bordellos and “the ladies of the night” who worked at them. Lux Rooms is a boutique hotel housed in a former bordello and it’s one of the most unique places you’ll stay in Wallace.
Completely immerse yourself in Wallace history when you spend the night at Lux Rooms. Housed inside of the former Lux Bordello, this hotel will definitely give you something to talk about.

The two-story brick building that Lux Rooms calls home has been completely renovated and converted into a boutique hotel. You’d never guess that the building operated openly as a bordello for nearly a century before closing in the late 1980s…

…except for the fact that the hotel is dedicated to honoring the women who worked here throughout the bordello’s lifetime. By documenting their contribution to the town’s past, Lux Rooms keeps the memory of these women alive.
