Operating out of Mass. Ave Diner in Cambridge, m.A.d City is an Alice in Wonderland eatery with enough whimsy to transport you to another dimension.

The walls are decorated with glow-in-the-dark murals straight out of the storybook. You’ll be surrounded by giant mushrooms, grinning cats and surreal cityscapes.

The aesthetic here is mad, so their menu makes perfect sense. Enjoy small bites like oysters in a ginger scallion mignonette and a cheese plate described as “not what you think.”

For your main, consider delights like popcorn chicken (that’s popcorn AND chicken), spaghetti-Os (ravioli with parmesan foam) and steak and eggs with caviar and cured egg yolk.
