No matter your age, the Audubon Zoo is always a good time. With thousands of animals, it’s no wonder it was voted as one of the top ten zoos in the country by USA Today. During the summer months, there’s one particular attraction that’s the perfect way to beat the heat, and you won’t want to let the summer pass by without experiencing the Cool Zoo at least once this year.

You’ll find the Cool Zoo within the Audubon Park.

Audubon Zoo / Facebook It’s located between the Aviary and the elephants, not too far from the entrance. Follow the signs and you’ll have no problem finding this epic water attraction.

When you want to sit back and relax, this is the place to do it!

Start your Cool Zoo experience by taking a float around the 750-foot lazy river.

The river is only three feet deep, so you can easily stand if you need to adjust your tube.

There are plenty of lounge chairs to soak up some sun.

Kids and adults of all ages will have a blast here.

Of course, you’ll want to soak your friends with the water cannons.

In between floats, pop over to Gator Bites, where you can fuel up on drinks and snacks.
