There are so many great dining spots around the Beaver State that we could feature a new restaurant every week and never run out of recommendations. Of course, do have a few favorites. These places are just a few of the tried-and-true dining venues that we go back to again and again. They’re the restaurants we always recommend to out-of-town guests, and they run the gamut from casual spots to historic icons.
*These restaurants aren’t ranked, they’re presented alphabetically, because there’s no way we could possibly decide which ones are the best!
- Bowpicker Fish & Chips, Astoria
italiann/Tripadvisor
Jay Beach/Google It makes a certain amount of sense to get your fish from a gillnet boat, doesn’t it? This little boat is a walk-up restaurant that specializes in just one thing - fish ’n chips - and it does it so, so well. To see our feature article, click here.
- Cowboy Dinner Tree, Silver Lake
David Willer/Google

- Huber’s Cafe, Portland
Huber’s Cafe/Facebook
Charles Lucero/Google Huber’s opened its doors way back in 1879, and it’s one of Oregon’s oldest restaurants. Nowadays, you’ll pay for your sandwich, but it’s well worth it! To see our feature article, click here.
- Junkyard Extreme Burgers & Brats, Junction City
Jed Ayers/Google
macdaddie mcalister/Google This quirky burger joint in Junction City has some of the most unique landscaping you’ve ever seen, and the inside of the restaurant is just as kitschy! The five burgers on the menu are thick, juicy, and covered in tasty toppings. To see our feature article, click here.
