With its dozens of waterfalls, Pennsylvania is a dream come true for those who love one of nature’s most beautiful natural wonders. Ricketts Glen State Park earns props as the state park with the most waterfalls – 21 named cascades along the Falls Trail. However, Bushkill Falls, often called The Niagara of Pennsylvania, comes in a close second and is definitely bucket list-worthy.

Carve out at least two hours for your trek along the Red Trail at Bushkill Falls, the longest trail in the park and the only one that will give you a look at each of the eight waterfalls.

Prepare for a workout on the trail that’s rated moderate, largely due to the many stairs you’ll have to climb. Sturdy shoes or boots are a must for this trek.

You’ll probably also want to bring along plenty of water and snacks to help keep you energized. If you’re bringing kids or aren’t in great shape, you might find it takes longer than the estimated two hours to finish the hike.

If you’re not up for the two-hour trek, you can choose from one of the shorter trails. A 15-minute walk, the Green Trail features some steps and will take you to the Main Falls.

The Yellow Trail usually takes 45 minutes to complete, and you’ll pass several cascades, including Lower Gorge Falls, Laurel Glen Falls, and Upper Canyon Falls. View Pennell Falls along the longest Red Trail or if you set off on the 1.25-hour Blue Trail.
