Montana’s Moss Mansion is a historic treasure. Located in Billings, this estate-turned-museum is a year-round destination for locals and visitors alike who happen to be curious about history. If it’s been a while since you’ve visited or you have yet to check it out, take note — October is a fantastic time to go. The creepy, eerie, and downright scary events will put you in a Halloween state of mind.
The Moss Mansion was once the home of Mr. and Mrs. Moss, their six children, and three family servants.

The mansion was designed by the famous New York City architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, who also designed the original Waldorf-Astoria and the Plaza Hotel, among other famous buildings.
Even when it’s not the spooky season, the Moss Mansion is rumored to be haunted.
Moss Mansion / Facebook Considering several of the Moss family members died here, that’s not surprising. Guests and staff have reported seeing shadows, hearing a female voice singing in the Billiards Room, and seeing apparitions of little Virginia Moss, who passed away when she was only six.
We cannot confirm or deny the paranormal activity in the Moss Mansion – but we can confirm that October has a lineup of spooky events.
