Rivers abound in West Virginia. They’re part of what makes this state so beautifully diverse. One of the most well-known of our rivers is the New River, of the New River Gorge National Park fame. And if it’s that river you’ve come to see, one of the best ways to do so is along the longest scenic riverside drive in the New River Gorge National Park, which leads to a magnificent surprise.

The New River is a world-class natural wonder in more ways than one. Ancient, historic, beautiful: this river is a nature lover’s paradise.

And one of the best ways to enjoy it is via a leisurely drive down the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve’s only scenic riverside route: New River Drive in Hinton, West Virginia.
