You could dedicate the rest of your life to uncovering hidden gems in Arizona and still just barely scratch the surface – but it’s worth a try! One more spot to add to your bucket list is Redwall Cavern, a massive sand cave hiding at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The cave, which can hold thousands of people, is only accessible via a paddling trip on the Colorado River, making it the perfect adventure for outdoorsy types.

A hidden gem along the Colorado River at the base of the Grand Canyon, Redwall Cavern has to be among the most underrated natural wonders in the state.

Near the mouth of the cavern, you can spot marine fossils embedded in the limestone.

From an outside perspective, the cavern appears to be nothing more than a small little grotto formed over eons of water erosion.

Even pictures taken from the interior don’t begin to do the size justice.

Looking upstream, the views of the towering canyon walls reflecting on the crystal-clear river waters are mind-bogglingly gorgeous.

While camping isn’t allowed at Redwall Cavern, nobody said anything about epic dance parties!

So if you feel like you’ve seen everything Arizona has to offer, travel to the depths of the Grand Canyon and explore this larger-than-life alcove.
