Based in Bolton, Vermont, the Winooski River Footbridge is a cable and wire bridge for hikers who want to walk a part of the Long Trail.
This suspension bridge was built in 2015 by the Green Mountain Club as part of the Winooski Valley Long Trail relocation project. Thanks to the bridge being placed in this location, hikers, local visitors, and people who use wheelchairs can experience a part of the Long Trail that includes spectacular views of Vermont’s lush scenery.
To reach the Winooski River footbridge, take Duxbury Road to the south side of the river. There’s a small parking lot to the left of the bridge for you to leave your car.

Since the bridge is only for pedestrians to walk across, you’ll need to leave your bike behind.
