At some point, you might have read our article featuring a fabulous mimosa cruise on the Narragansett Bay aboard the M/V Gansett. Since then, we’ve learned that you can also take a morning mimosa tour by land! Jump aboard the rails and pedal your way past stunning scenery to a brunch of mimosas with Rail Explorers in Rhode Island. What an incredible way to kick off a beautiful day here in Little Rhody!

Rail Explorers is a unique way to take in Rhode Island’s gorgeous scenery. The pedal-powered bikes ride the defunct railroad tracks and give new life to these scenic byways.

The bikes come in either a tandem style built for two or a quad design built for four. The low-to-the-ground bikes lock onto the rails and follow the path of the tracks.

The explorers are powered by your own two feet on the easy-to-use pedals. Since you’re riding the rails, this excursion is hands-free, giving you plenty of opportunities to take pictures.

You can take a variety of excursions on Rail Explorers but the two-hour Brunch Tour with mimosas in Rhode Island is by far our favorite!

Rail Explorers

You’ll ride the Southern Circuit from the Portsmouth Grove Station to the Bayside Station on a six-mile round trip journey alongside the Narragansett Bay.

At the scenic waterfront Bayside Station, you’ll arrive at a Sunday brunch treat. Mimosas, Bloody Marys, Death Wish Coffee, muffins, fruit, and more make for a delightful pit stop.

Sip, munch, and relax at the cheerful depot with picnic area before you take your return trip back to Portsmouth.

The morning mimosa tour takes place on Sundays at 9 a.m. during the season and lasts for two hours. Make your reservations online to reserve your spot! This is one of the most unique things to do in Rhode Island.
