Seneca Rocks is one of a handful of scenes (including other icons like the New River Gorge Bridge and Glade Creek Gristmill) from around the state of West Virginia that have become famous as the face of the Mountain State. For good reason, too: the rugged, jagged profile of the rocks is an unforgettable sight. But do you know what makes the experience even more amazing? A horseback tour of these legendary cliffs!

A wide, peaceful trail meanders through West Virginia’s most beautiful mountain country, heading up toward one of her most famous landmarks: Seneca Rocks.

The trail leads all the way to the top of the rock cliffs, to an observation deck with a spectacular view of Almost Heaven (that’s West Virginia for you non-locals) that stretches for miles.

And while you can hike this trail, why do that when you have the option to ride to the top of Seneca Rocks on horseback, courtesy of Yokum’s Stables?
