It’s always a fun time for the whole family at Brookfield Zoo with all the animals to see! It’s a place to learn about nature, wildlife, and the environment; a place to see exotic animals from all over the world and learn about their habitats. As exciting as all that is, there’s a special event for those who love prehistoric creatures that once roamed the earth. Until September 6, 2021, adults and kids alike can have a blast searching for dinosaurs all around the zoo!
Search for over 40 life-like, animatronic dinosaurs that are scattered throughout the 216-acre zoo. They seem so realistic that you may feel like you’ve traveled back to prehistoric times!

You can download a zoo map to help find your favorite dinosaurs around the park and keep track of those you find. And, don’t worry, you’ll get to see all the zoo animals along the way, too.

With over 40 dinosaurs to find, you’ll be covering a lot of distance around the zoo. Be prepared to get some exercise as you search for the larger-than-life Carnotaurus, Argentinosaurus, Maiasaura, Troodon, Allosaurus, and crowd favorites like a Stegasaurus, Ankylosaur, Spinosaurus, and the mighty T-rex!

Since the dinos are animatronic, they move and roar, making your experience as realistic and exciting as possible. This is also an incredible way for kids to use their imaginations and learn about these prehistoric creatures.

Scattered around the zoo on the dino trails, there are 12 Benita brontosaurs. When you find one, snap a picture and tag the zoo on social media to let them know.

Kids will also have fun pretending to be paleontologists as they search for bones at the dig site.

Even though dinosaurs are extinct, we can at least see their modern-day descendants like birds and crocodiles around the zoo!
