The Carbon Canyon Nature Trail is a hiking trail located in Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Southern California.

The trail is a heavily trafficked 3-mile out-and-back trail that leads to a stunning redwood grove featuring 10 acres of coastal redwood trees that stand anywhere from 40 to 70 feet tall.

Besides redwood trees, you can also explore a pond, native plant life like walnut trees, and wildlife including rabbits, squirrels, and other small critters. Be careful of poison oak, as it has been known to creep up around the trail.

The trail is made up of both dirt and pavement. With only a slight increase in elevation, it’s perfect for any skill level.

Birdwatching, running, and dog walking are all activities that are commonly done on this trail. However, if you do opt to bring your precious pooch, be sure to leash them.

The trail is open year-round and there is a small entrance fee. However, visitors agree the best time to go is between the months of April and December.
