If you love nature and literature, then this scenic outdoor garden in Illinois is a unique gem you must check out. Located on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, the Shakespeare Garden has a beautiful array of flowers and greenery. It was the first Shakespeare Garden to be built in the United States over a century ago. A walk through the gardens will be a breath of fresh air for your senses.
The Shakespeare Garden was founded in 1915 by The Garden Club of Evanston to honor our British allies in war and memorialize the 300th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

The garden became part of the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It remains a prized attraction at the University.
