New Jersey is home to so much wildlife, but one of the cutest residents you’ll find in the state is absolutely the seal. While you can now find seals hanging out on a few different beaches in New Jersey, our favorite area for seal spotting is Sandy Hook. You’ll likely see a few of the adorable animals chilling here!

Sandy Hook is one of the most beautiful places in New Jersey.

Meena P/TripAdvisor We absolutely love this beach area.

There are a plethora of activities to do here.

MitchPhyllis65/TripAdvisor Of course, you can lay out and read by the sand, go swimming in the ocean, explore the town’s shops, or go seashell hunting.

Maybe our favorite thing about Sandy Hook, though, is the seals you can spot here now!

It’s illegal to capture, hunt, or harass seals, and ever since those laws were put into place, the seal population at Sandy Hook just keeps rising.

Maybe you’ll spot them on a sand bar sunning themselves with friends, or maybe you’ll see them diving in the water while you’re boating.

Jennifer F/TripAdvisor It’s an amazing sight to see.

It’s so fun to try to spot the seals on your beach day, but just remember to keep a safe distance.

Like we said, Sandy Hook is a magical area of New Jersey. The seals just add to it!
