Any day spent hiking in Utah’s wilderness is a good day, but there’s nothing like a waterfall hike. The payoff for your work is a scenic cascade, and sometimes even a cooling splash. The Stewart Falls Trail is a 3.4-mile out-and-back hike that’s perfect on a year-round.
The Stewart Falls Trail is located in the Mount Timpanogos Wilderness. You’ll find the trailhead at Aspen Grove, along the scenic Alpine Loop.

During warm months, this trail can be quite crowded, so hike on a weekday morning if possible.

The trail is mostly moderate with a few steep, rocky parts. Hikers of all ages enjoy the terrain, fresh air, and scenery here. Make sure to keep a close eye on kids; there are some sharp drop-offs in some spots.

Less than two miles from the trailhead, you’ll catch a glimpse of Stewart Falls, and it’s quite impressive. The waterfall is a double-cascade that tumbles 200 feet down the face of the cliff.
