Everyone knows the Pacific Northwest has some of the best sunsets on the planet. Our West Coast location and abundance of natural scenery ensures that. But what about sunrises? If you’re able to wake up early, you may have noticed that the break of dawn in Washington is equally as beautiful. And the next time you visit Lake Chelan, we highly recommend setting your alarm. The sunrises here are truly spectacular.

Lake Chelan is located in north-central Washington, in the absolutely gorgeous Chelan County.

The name Chelan is a Salish Indigenous word, “Tsi - Laan,” which means Deep Water.

During the day, especially in the summer, you’ll find hundreds of Washingtonians on the lakeshore and out in boats, fishing, tubing, and having a fantastic time…

The sunrises over Lake Chelan are like nothing you’ll experience anywhere in the state.

Of course, it may be a bit too early to take a swim (brr!), but a lakeside sunrise stroll would be a perfect way to greet the day.

The next time you visit Chelan, make sure you wake up early every morning that you can.
