Have you ever seen the Centennial State from high up in the sky? No, we do not mean via airplane, but rather from atop one of our amazing peaks! Are you ready to lace up your shoes and hit the trail? Then we will meet you at the incredible mountaintop Hahns Peak Lookout Tower in Colorado:
Welcome to Hahns Peak, a former mining area that is now one of Colorado’s best-kept secrets!
AllTrails/John Sanchez
Tucked away just north of Steamboat Springs, Hanhs Peak is also the site of an extinct volcano, which makes the climb all the more unique and exciting.

In addition to the Peak’s fascinating history, it is also uncommon in that it boasts - unlike most Colorado peaks - a relatively low elevation of 10,843 feet (the 1855th highest summit in the state), making it more accessible to all.

Are you ready to see Hahns Peak from the top? If so, take the 3.6-mile out and back trail, which is accessible via County Road 129 (approximately 29 miles north of Steamboat Springs), where you will find the small towns of Hahns Peak and Columbine. You will find both parking and access to the trailhead near the Columbine General Store.
